Recreation programs for 2025

The Village of Pugwash owns and maintains tennis courts, basketball courts and a volleyball court. Some equipment is available at the Village Hall upon request. We hope to be hiring a Recreation Director for the summer of 2024. Resumes are welcome.
The Village is partnering with the YMCA in Amherst to provide some programs next summer, including swimming diours.com.
Sports teams at Pugwash District High School (PDHS) have won at provincial and regional competitions. Soccer and basketball are particularly popular and our teams (Go Panthers!!) have done exceptionally well over the years. There are junior and senior teams for boys and girls in both soccer and basketball. Other sports teams at the school include: curling, volleyball, skiing, softball, track and field and golf.
The North Cumberland Community Curling Club (NCCC) operates throughout the winter. This site offers other activities, such as shuffleboard, in the off season months.
Sport Pugwash owns and maintains a facility just outside of the Village limits on the Miller Road. There are weekly baseball games and disc golf during the summer.
Additional Tennis and Pickleball courts (opened 2023) are at Sunset Boulevard just off the Crowley Road.
